About Alexandra Harvey
Hello!
My name is Alexandra Harvey. I have been a Massage Therapist since 2000, with over 2300 hours of training in Ontario, Canada, and thousands of treatments since them.
I treat children, adolescents, adults and seniors. I am experienced with medical massage, treatment oriented massage and relaxation focused treatment sessions.
I have had various training over the years including: hot stone, Himalayan stone, acupressure, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Indian Head massage, Trigger point massage, myofascial release, sports massage, Deep tissue, Swedish massage, infant massage, prenatal/ postnatal massage, and TMJ work.
I have also had training in health coaching as a holistic Health Coach. I have completed some training in applied functional medicine health coaching as well.
I see massage therapy as an investing in one’s health. It is regular maintenance or a tune up for the body and preventative health care. It is nice to see the healing power of touch through a massage session when people feel better at the end of their session. It’s really rewarding to educate and empower clients about their health.
I was introduced to massage therapy by accident. I had never had a massage before massage school. I was looking at post graduate studies in the health field. A friend of the family had mentioned massage therapy to me. I researched it a bit and decided to apply. I was looking for a flexible career to be able to have a good work-life balance. It has been a rewarding career and I have been able to work in different settings and have the support of my two daughters and husband. In my spare time, I love to take courses, do yoga , travel, read fiction and walk my two Shelties with my husband.
